  • Yield: 6 servings

  • Prep time: 10 minutes

  • Steeping time: 30 minutes

  • Total time: 40 minutes

Ingredients Required for the Thai Iced Milk Tea Recipe

To make authentic Thai iced tea, you will need the following:

  • 1 cup (80 g) Thai Tea Mix

  • 4 cups (960 ml) water

  • 3/4 cup (150 g) granulated sugar

  • 3/4 cup (240 ml) half and a half (or coconut milk, whole milk, sweetened condensed milk)

  • Ice

  Step 1

Bring water to a boil and add the Thai tea mix. Add sugar and gently stir to completely dissolve the sugar. Gently boil tea for about 3 minutes. Remove from heat. Let the tea steep for 5 minutes before serving.

Step 2

To make the best Thai tea, allow it to steep for at least 30 minutes and then cool. The more concentrated the tea flavor, the better the Thai tea will taste.

Step 3

If you're using the Thai tea mix, make sure to strain the tea leaves out. We usually make this tea mix one day ahead so that it's not too strong when we drink it. Set the finished Thai tea aside to cool and if you're making this ahead of time, store it in the fridge.

Step 4

Instructions:

 1. Fill glasses with ice and pour in Thai tea, leaving enough room to add half and half (or other creamers).

2. For an eight oz. Glass, we like to add 2-3 tablespoons of half and a half for a creamier flavor.

What is The Difference Between Thai Tea And Milk Tea?

Milk tea is a popular drink that can be served iced or hot. It's traditionally made using black tea, but the "milk" part of the drink can come from a variety of sources, like sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, whole milk, or even non-dairy milk.

Thai tea is a type of milk tea that contains a more specific mixture of black tea, spices, sugar, and evaporated and/or condensed milk.
